On‑Site Senior Electrical Engineer (6‑Month Contract)
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on‑site at a client facility in Cleveland, OH. The project is expected to last approximately six months and will involve handling 3‑4 projects concurrently at a chemical plant. Experience with heavy industrial chemical plants, instrumentation, and controls is required. This is an on‑site position; remote candidates will not be considered.
Base pay range$45.00/hr – $73.00/hr
SummaryThe Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for gathering and analyzing technical data to prepare basic electrical engineering designs for client projects including power, lighting and electrical distribution, electrical one‑line drawings, load studies, protective relaying, arc flash studies, equipment lists, area classification, and other electrical drawings. The role requires visiting client facilities and performing physical work as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for engineering calculations and plan development.
- Leads other designers and engineers on the project team, maintaining effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients.
- Collects and prepares data/information and performs detailed engineering calculations.
- Specifies power system equipment, switch gear, unit substations, motor control centers, drive systems, grounding systems, and lighting systems.
- Creates electrical load studies, control schematics, and electrical engineering details.
- Utilizes computer‑assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Assists in field work by directing and coordinating operations, checking installations, problem‑solving, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems.
- Serves as a project lead for single‑discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staff recommendations, and checking drawings.
- Maintains compliance with all Chemstress policies, procedures, and standards.
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required; PE preferred.
- Field experience in industrial and chemical environments.
- Seven to twenty years of experience in chemicals, petrochemicals, polymers, utility, energy, and manufacturing (heavy industrial/chemical preferred).
- Knowledge of protective relaying and short‑circuit studies using Easy Power or similar modeling software.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Authorization to submit to a background investigation.
- Submits to a drug test post‑offer.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license.
- Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel.
- Willingness to commute to office location at least three days per week.
- Ability to collaborate with others in an on‑site, team environment.
- Demonstrate reliable, consistent, and punctual work‑site attendance.
- Ability to utilize the required technology such as computers, phones, and tablets to complete job duties.
- Must be an organized, self‑starter who can independently manage time effectively.
- Have the ability to handle varying workloads and the associated stress levels.
- Ability to meet the quality and productivity standards required by the company.
