Primary Purpose of Job

Under the direction of an Engineering Lead, this position is responsible for effecting workable solutions to engineering and production problems and solve those problems rapidly and with minimum operational interference. This position does not directly supervise other personnel. The incumbent communicates continually with all levels of personnel in the Maintenance, Planning, Production, Purchasing, Human Resources, Finance, and EHS Departments, as well as with Technical Supervisors and other Engineering & Design Department personnel.

Externally, they communicate with advertisers, vendors, and suppliers.

Accountability Objectives

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintenance and Production Support:
  • Improving the overall safety of the plant’s equipment and processes.
  • Providing technical support for the maintenance of complex diagnostic procedures, training programs, preventative maintenance programs, and equipment breakdowns.
  • Providing specialized technical expertise for the application and use of mechanical technology for plant facilities and processes.
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating equipment installations.
  • Providing engineering and consultation services in terms of diagnosis and solutions to difficult operating and maintenance problems including performing root cause analysis with the goal of equipment reliability.
  • Providing continuous safe operation of mechanical equipment in area assigned by identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operation and provide repair solutions.
  • Training maintenance supervisors, and craft personnel coaching for maintenance supervisors, and craft personnel in area assigned.
  • Driving continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste, especially as it relates to equipment downtime, safety, work practices, and employee involvement.
  • Performing and/or directing the design, development, installation, cost control, and evaluation of complex engineering projects.
  • Writing and/or approvingודש engineering specifications, designs, estimates, schedules, spare parts lists, quotations, requisitions, work orders, etc.
  • Developing and preparing Request for Authorizations (RFAs) to secure approval for capital engineering projects. Monitoring and managing these capital projects’ financial changes against the approved financial blog against the approved budget to avoid exceeding the authorized amount and expected timeline. Preparing documentation, such as engineering and project status reports
    
    BLE. Carry these capital projects from their conception through completion.
• Engineering and Innovation:
  • Providing engineering innovations intended to increase productivity, reliability and availability of plant equipment and facilities, while observing the operating areas to maintain the knowledge of the current operating conditions.
  • Continuing to hone the craft of project management, engineering, and processes (project and reliability engineering) within assigned area of responsibility.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with 5 or more years of experience.
• Knowledge in design and project planning dsoftware such as AutoCAD, Solid Works and/or Microsoft Project.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of industrial hydraulics, including the ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve hydraulic circuits.
