Our Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the System Planning and Analysis group. While in this role you will perform and supervise a team with the following accountabilities: system planning and optimization of distribution, gathering, transmission, and storage systems, conduct hydraulic modeling for these systems, provide regulatory support, on-call emergency response and the outage tool. You will support integration and standardization strategies in alignment with GDS.
What you will do:- Responsible for the System Planning & Optimization group
- Directing, management, and oversight of SPO gas network computer modeling (Synergi) for the business unit
- SPO responsibilities include performing analysis for interruption, new customer, contingency planning, firm peaking, station capacity and other requests as they develop
- Annual new model builds (Synergi) and validations are also performed, oversight of various reports including state of the system, IRP, and various data requests.
- Emergency Response/Outage Tool, On-Call Engineering duties
- Engineering Technical Trainings are also required
- Develop best practices across System Planning
- Support SPO engineering standardization strategy; establish parameters, build processes, system verification, and develop reinforcement criteria, methodologies, capacity planning, and customer forecast and trends.
- Develop knowledge transfer processes and documentation
- Support change management with processes, systems, and resources.
- 7+ years of significantly directly related experience along with a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or civil engineering (PE preferred) along with high proficiency working with Synergi computer modeling software.
- REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
- Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
- Familiarity with Enbridge Gas Ohio piping is preferred, station and large customer network for Enbridge Gas Ohio
- Show knowledge of company operations and the natural gas industry in addition to applicable regulatory requirements (DOT/PHMSA/PUCO)
- Define problems, make decisions, and develop solutions using your strong analytical and conflict resolution skills
- Manage large data sets working with databases, GIS, and working with IT for building and maintaining the Synergi models
- An excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to process information and effectively while managing multiple tasks.
- A demonstrated leader with coaching, planning, and organizational skills that you'll use to mentor, train, and guide direct reports and Engineering department as a whole
- A solid understanding of gas operations, gas control, gas supply, key accounts, EGO rate structure.
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
