Job Title:
Mechanical Estimator (Preconstruction Specialist)
Location: Northeast Ohio (Office-based with occasional site visits)
Employment Type: Full-Time
This is a newly created position driven by expansion, offering the opportunity to become the first dedicated preconstruction professional in the mechanical group of a growing organization. You will play a critical role in shaping project success by delivering accurate estimates and collaborating on design-build projects across diverse industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities (Required)- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for industrial and commercial projects.
- Collaborate with engineering firms during design-build processes.
- Analyze complex mechanical systems and provide cost-effective solutions.
- Utilize estimating software (e.g., Accubid or similar) for accurate project costing.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure seamless preconstruction planning.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC and process piping.
- Proficiency in Excel and at least one industry-standard estimating software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with process piping and design-build projects.
- Familiarity with Accubid software.
- Construction-related degree (Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, etc.).
- Exposure to pharmaceutical or data center projects.
- Base Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience (up to $150,000 for highly qualified candidates).
- Annual Bonus: Discretionary, ranging from 5% to 20% of base salary.
- Profit Sharing: 8% of base salary contributed annually to your 401(k) when enrolled.
