Title: Senior Process Development Engineer

Location: Greater Cleveland, OH area

Duration: Full-time, Permanent

Number of Openings: 1

• Urgent hire (“needed last month”)
• Must have CDMO experience and commercial exposure
• API experience and ability to scale up facility
• Role bridges chemistry, engineering, and operations; client-facing component

• Scale-up experience from lab to pilot plant
• Strong troubleshooting/problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication for cross‑functional and client interactions

Required Years: 8+ years in scale-up/preparation of pharma or specialty chemicals

Education: B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry

Technology Areas: Process validation, cleaning validation, equipment commissioning

This client is a global leader in API development and manufacturing, operating 14 sites and 9 R&D centers worldwide. The Northeast Ohio site is expanding rapidly to support U.S. onshoring of APIs and high‑potency manufacturing. • Interact with chemists to guide development of new chemical processes, translate these processes into executable instructions, and guide operators through production.
• Provide guidance in scaling up production processes from the lab to the pilot plant.
• Be able to provide flexible solutions when processes do not scale as expected and work closely with production operators in providing instructions.
• Able to assist other engineers with difficult scale up situations.
• Provide supporting documentation (batch records, specifications, hazard sheets, safety review packages, air emissions, processing reports) necessary to support processing in the plant.
• Conduct safety meetings, oversee execution of processing, participate on the floor as appropriate and review executed batch records.
• Interact closely with our chemistry and quality departments throughout the production process.
• External interactions include meeting with clients, vendors and contractors.
• Engineering support of pilot plant infrastructure.
• Ability to multi‑task and work with supervisor to establish priorities.
