GPD is currently seeking an Entry‑Level Structural Engineer for our Cleveland, OH office location.
Ideal Candidate- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- 0‑3 years of experience.
- A structural focus or coursework with steel, concrete, foundations, and geotechnical is preferred.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of live/dead/wind/ice loads, load combinations, and understanding codes and application is preferred.
- Experience supporting architects and engineers in design and documentation for project work.
- Experience developing construction documents and engineering reports in a fast‑paced multi‑site industry.
- Experience with 3‑D modeling software is a plus: RISA 3D, STAAD, etc.
- Telecommunication tower analysis experience is a plus.
- AutoCAD experience required;
Bluebeam and MS Office experience preferred. - Field survey and construction administration experience preferred.
- Ability to work within a team environment with individuals from various offices and disciplines through all phases of design.
- Working knowledge of codes, standards, and building construction methods.
- Must be organized and possess strong communication and professional writing skills.
- Some travel may be required on occasions. Valid driver’s license required.
- Technical problem solving.
- Engineering design and documentation with an emphasis in energy or telecom projects.
- Some travel and field work to collect data and develop solutions.
- Project planning.
- Develop calculations, diagrams, and models to support technical solutions.
- Preparation of construction documents based upon field surveys, available resources, and client requirements.
- Collaboration with all disciplines and stakeholders.
- Supporting projects with technical design and documentation using AutoCAD.
- Researching design solutions and products.
- Permitting research, submittals, and follow‑up.
