The Process Engineer provides engineering support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure the product is processed in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow. Charged with developing and maintaining systems to assure that all products manufactured by the plant meet customer specifications and achieve superior reliability. The resident expert regarding process technology, responsible for investigating and implementing new process technology, maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the plant, influencing preventative maintenance programs, capital improvement plans, and facilitation of work area design, plant layout, visual control, metric implementation, material flow, process tracking, and communication.

• Safety – Assume a leadership position at the facility in partnership with shift supervisors, resolving and communicating safety issues, proactively monitoring the area and remediating potential safety issues, and conducting GEMBA Walks daily.
• Execute scheduled PHA’s and JSA’s.
• Use DAKOTA software for compliance and environmental, health and safety reporting.
• Develop and execute “standard work” activities and assume responsibility for assigned Engineering Tier activities.
• Improve productivity by eliminating non‑value‑added activities and applying engineering principles.
• Product quality: maximize equipment efficiency and quality for output, serve on the facility QIC, identify root causes, prevent future customer complaints, and aid operator training focused on quality criteria and process parameters.
• Capable of equipment troubleshooting and process design.

• Bachelor's degree from a four- or five-year college or university.
• B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Controls Engineering.

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Relevant internship experience acceptable.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

• Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.

• Understanding process variance and its effects on quality.
• Knowledge of applied statistics.
• Ability to perform problem analysis utilizing problem‑solving methodology.
