POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, provides executive level leadership and academic programming in the Health and Public Safety division in alignment with the vision, mission, values, and strategic focus of the organization. Provides strategic leadership and supervision for the division’s Associate Deans, adjunct faculty, and staff. Inspires a student-first, student success culture and establishes an environment in which integrity and ethics are the norm.

Ensure that faculty and staff have the resources, information, autonomy, and support needed to achieve results. Advances the image of the division and programs inside and outside of the College. Supports and champions College initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Supports and assists specific program accreditation within the Health and Public Safety Division. Supports the Public Safety training facilities and resources, Lakeshore Community Dental Clinic, and on and off campus clinical and laboratory training resources, monitor services, budget, purchases, staffing, quality, and risk. Forms community and job center relationships to promote and sustain programming within the district. Provides an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Assemble, manage, and coach a diverse faculty/staff talent pool capable of achieving results.
  • Trust the judgment of others, delegating and giving latitude to exercise authority in their own areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication fostering open and respectful interaction.
  • Maintain customer focus by tailoring message and style effectively communicating to internal and external customers.
  • Guide Advisory Committee structure and fosters engagement.
  • Provide leadership in implementing a workplace learning team with responsibilities including the identification of strategic objectives and continuous improvement of processes and College activities.
  • Provide supervision and resources for faculty and staff within programmatic areas.
  • Maintain state of industry-relevant labs and classrooms.
  • Analyze reports to effectively assign workload; manages personnel and non-personnel current expense, and capital budgets.
  • Utilize a problem-solving and decision-making process which incorporates data, experience, and faculty and staff appropriately.
  • Create open and transparent division-level financial processes and communication.
  • Seek resources from internal and external resources (e.g., Grants, donations) to meet division needs.
  • Develop and maintain articulation opportunities with four-year universities.
  • Coordinate grants, including programming, staffing, and reporting, and grant writing assistance.
(25%) Strategic Division Leadership
  • Engage faculty, staff, and stakeholders to create strategic division plans that align to the Academic Master, College Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
  • Create a culture in which breakthrough ideas are generated to create and improve programing, curriculum, and delivery and student success.
  • Measure division performance using quality and key performance indicators, monitors, reports, and other available data.
  • Ensure program compliance with the Wisconsin Technical College System Board’s and program accreditation standards.
  • Balance the achievement of day-to-day results with the accomplishments of key college initiatives.
  • Ensure that student learning is assessed, improved, and effective through program review and continuous improvement processes, guided by the Comprehensive Outcome Assessment Plan (e.g., QRP, folder, academic maps, etc.).
  • Design student-focused schedules that optimize workload and classroom efficiencies.
  • Balance the achievement of day-to-day results with the accomplishments of key college initiatives.
