Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The starting date of the appointment is August 17, 2026.
We seek candidates with a strong research program in mathematics whose scholarship complements and supports existing areas of departmental strength. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research has the potential for interdisciplinary engagement, including connections to computational science, but areas of specialization are open. Successful candidates are expected to maintain an active research program, seek external funding appropriate to their field and rank, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics, mentor students, and participate in department, college, and university service.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees in Mathematics, and an M.S. in Statistics and Analytics. Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics. Appropriate terminal degree completed by July 1, 2026. Persons who are ABD will be hired at the rank of Instructor;
- Active research program in mathematics;
- Strong communication skills.
