Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the College's Frances M. Franklin Academic Alliance with wrap-around support services and resources for students from low to moderate income backgrounds. Provides materials and organizes student workshops, plans meetings, and develops communications with students, faculty, and staff. Encourages, motivates, and supports students and assists with family emergencies that are barriers to educational access, work-based learning, and student success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides support to the Academic Alliance program activity and community engagement programs, monitors goals and status of participating students, and monitors implementation of community development activities/resources.
- Serves as a liaison between the College and external partners to administer programs and services.
- Serves as a liaison between the College and external partners to meet common objectives to support student success.
- Provides additional support to current and perspective Academic Alliance students to connect them to College resources and programs.
- Supports and updates team members in the research and development of strategic initiatives related to access, community outreach, and student retention support programs.
- Facilitates effective communication and collaboration within the College amongst faculty, staff, administration, and students.
- Maintains and coordinates an effective and efficient data management process that guides strategic direction, decision-making, and resource development for the division and its programs.
- Works collaboratively with department to identify resources for program development, delivery, and sustainability.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
- Significant related experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated office or program support experience.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of administrative support concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
- Possess excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated intermediate Banner System skills (or equivalent program).
- Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently.
- Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity.
- Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail.
- Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment with limited supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate departmental needs as directed.
- Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of students and the community.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Master's Degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Three years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success in community relations and project management.

- The work is partially performed in a normal, professional office environment.
- The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.

However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
