Role and ResponsibilitiesSeeds of Literacy, an award-winning nonprofit organization that provides free GED prep and basic education to adults in the Cleveland area, has an urgent need for people to volunteer as adult literacy tutors. Tutors work one-to-one with students to improve reading, writing, and math skills, offer encouragement and support, and help students develop positive attitudes towards learning. Tutors typically come to one class session per week for one year;
accommodations can be made for those with special circumstances. Classes are two hours long, with a flexible schedule and sessions scheduled throughout the day. Tutoring sessions take place in our Virtual Classroom on Zoom. You don’t have to be an educator to help—we’ll train you.
