Job Objective
Instruct students in CTE Clinical Health Careers curriculum
Essential Job Functions- Implement and manage an approved Career & Technical Education Health Science program in alignment with Ohio Department of Education & Workforce (ODEW) standards.
- Assist administration in implementing procedures and rules governing student conduct; develop reasonable classroom rules and maintain a fair and orderly learning environment.
- Demonstrate strong content knowledge and utilize varied instructional strategies and technology appropriate to diverse learners.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, supplies, and clinical facilities
- Act as teacher, facilitator, and content expert in the assigned health science specialty.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with counselors and professional staff to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated, including supervision of clinical and work-based learning experiences.
- Counsel and communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress, expectations, credentials, and career pathways.
- Maintain working relationships with healthcare providers, long-term care facilities, hospitals, clinics, and community partners to support clinical placements and work-based learning.
- Ensure accurate collection, documentation, and submission of required CTE reports, credential data, WBL agreements, and compliance materials.
- Coordinate and supervise clinical experiences
- Participate in advisory committee meetings and maintain engagement with professional healthcare business partners
- Supervise CTE student organization (CTSO) activities (e.g., HOSA), as applicable.
- Valid Ohio Department of Education (ODEW) teaching license
- Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license with:
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience
- At least one (1) year of experience in the provision of long-term care
- Completion of "Train the Trainer" course (or willingness to obtain)
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain an Ohio Career-Technical Education Teaching License within required state timelines (if not already licensed).
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and student assessment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Demonstrated computer and instructional technology proficiency.
- Knowledge of child/adolescent development and age‑appropriate instructional practices.
- Background in clinical supervision and/or supervised practice environments.
