Job Summary:
The Department of Chemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a non‑tenure track, full‑time faculty position at the level of Assistant College Lecturer in Chemistry, beginning August 17, 2026. The faculty member hired is expected to teach chemistry courses, including majors and non‑majors courses that strengthen our Chemistry program, and to participate in service activities.
• Teach rigorous undergraduate chemistry courses, covering General, Analytical, and Physical Chemistry.
• Develop and maintain course materials, assessments, and laboratory components.
• Contribute to program development and enhance student learning outcomes.
• Participate in departmental service and broader university responsibilities as needed.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Ability to teach areas of chemistry including General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the college, university, or community college level.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- ACS‑accredited B.S. chemistry degree or completion of equivalent courses.
- Documented experience in teaching chemistry lecture courses.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds.
- Ability to manage laboratory courses.
