This is a part-time, on-site role for an EMS Instructor at Auburn Career Center, located in Greater Cleveland. The EMS Instructor will teach and guide students in emergency medical services (EMS), including providing hands‑on training and practical knowledge aligned with industry standards. The instructor will develop lesson plans, facilitate classroom learning, and teach certification programs in accordance with state and national guidelines for emergency medical professionals.
Additionally, the role involves evaluating student performance and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of current trends in EMS and prehospital care practices.
- Experience and proficiency in EMS Education and Prehospital Care
- Certification as an EMT or Paramedic in the State of Ohio and knowledge of medicine as it pertains to emergency care
- Certification as a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor in the State of Ohio
- Ability to obtain an Adult Education License through the Ohio Department of Education
- Ability to pass a background check
- Certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) optional
- Ability to teach and mentor students effectively, fostering a supportive learning environment
- Understanding of state and national regulations regarding EMS training and certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse student and professional groups
- Previous teaching or instructional experience is highly beneficial
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is beneficial
