The Cleveland State University College of Law invites applications for two tenure‑track Assistant Professors of Law, at the entry or junior lateral level, beginning August 17, 2026.

Areas of interest in teaching and scholarship include criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, property, legislation and regulation, and administrative law. Candidates may also participate in one of our thriving and innovative research centers in a growing, welcoming metropolitan community.

Duties include teaching, scholarly research and writing, and related activities such as presenting papers ending on the candidate’s interests and the school’s needs, duties may also involve participation or administrative roles in a research center, as well as ordinary committee service.

Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. or equivalent degree with a distinguished academic record.
  • Evidence of potential for significant scholarly achievement and teaching ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • J.D. or equivalent degree with outstanding academic record, including law review, judicial clerkship, or significant practical experience.
  • An excellent record of scholarly research and publication, and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the intellectual excellence of the university community.
  • Areas of interest in teaching and scholarship include criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, property, legislation and regulation, and administrative law.
