Instructional Aide – Part Time

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Part‑Time Instructional Aide at Innovative Career Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.

About The Opportunity

The Instructional Aide assists the teacher with classroom activities and helps promote positive student behaviors in academics and extracurricular activities. The Aide provides oversight to ensure student safety and a positive school climate, and works in accordance with ACCEL Schools’ philosophy, policies, and all applicable laws.

Duties
  • Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups, following instructional plans as assigned.
  • Assists with planning classroom activities and supports the teacher in student and parent relations.
  • Participates in school activities such as parent‑faculty nights, faculty meetings, assemblies, commencement exercises, fundraisers, chaperoning student activities, and faculty committees.
  • Performs clerical duties, including grading papers and making copies.
  • Assists the teacher with classroom technology and maintains a clean classroom, lunchroom, and other school areas.
  • Understands, accepts, and implements the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including field trips, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty.
Performance Expectations
  • Works cooperatively with the teacher and others.
  • Acts in accordance with directives from the administrator (or designee) and teacher.
  • Contributes to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting a high professional standard.
About You
  • Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or passage of the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
  • Ability to meet applicable educational standards.
  • Works well under pressure and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Handles confidential information responsibly.
  • High‑quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 25‑40 lbs.
  • Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.
