Locum Physician – Electrophysiology (24-Hour Call) | Youngstown, OH
Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Electrophysiologist for a locum tenens opportunity beginning July 1, 2026 , to support an established cardiology and electrophysiology service in Youngstown, Ohio . This role includes inpatient care, scheduled daytime coverage, and 24-hour call responsibilities within a well-supported, high-volume cardiovascular program.
Start Date
July 1, 2026
Practice Setting
Inpatient care with call coverage
Coverage needed due to change in FTE
Supported by a large cardiology group and advanced practice providers
Schedule & Call
Daytime coverage: 8-hour shifts
24-hour on-call coverage
Call ratio: 1:4
Patient Volume
Average clinic patients per day: 20
Average inpatient admissions per physician per day: 11
Facility & Program Overview
Level I trauma designation
400 total hospital beds
50 ICU beds
Approximately 20 cardiologists in the group
Other cardiologists present during locum coverage
Locum physician will supervise one APP
Required Procedures
Non-invasive and electrophysiology procedures including but not limited to:
Electrical cardioversions
Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
Tilt table testing
Comprehensive electrophysiology procedures
Patient Population
Adult and geriatric patients
Documentation System
EPIC EMR
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 120 days

Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
Board Certified in Electrophysiology
BLS and ACLS certifications
Active Ohio medical license (or willingness to obtain)
NPDB self-query report (dated within 30 days of presentation)
