Job Summary
Trauma / Critical Care Surgeon – Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland, OH. Full‑time academic position with biweekly hours averaging 80.00 hours. Shift: 8–5. The Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery at Metro Health Medical Center is accepting applications for a full‑time academic surgeon. Successful candidates should be board‑certified/eligible in General Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care and have a strong interest in teaching.
An academic appointment to Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) commensurate with the candidate's academic record will be offered.
- Provide high‑quality care to trauma, emergency general surgery, and critically ill patients.
- Take approximately 4–6 calls per month covering acute care surgery (trauma, general surgery, and critical care).
- Serve as a team player and mentor, training residents and fellows from the region, including ED residents, Cleveland Clinic surgery residents, and students from CWRU and University Hospitals of Cleveland.
- Contribute to a critical care fellowship program and foster leadership development.
- Participate in academic activities, including teaching, research, and publication, to advance the group’s academic reputation.
- Board‑certified/eligible in General Surgery.
- Additional qualifications or experience in Surgical Critical Care.
- Strong interest in teaching and academic career development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to high‑standard patient care and continuous learning.
