Summary: Supports the Dentist(s) in the delivery of high value dental care to children through adult patient populations. Assists in providing a system which will deliver services efficiently, effectively, and safely with care and compassion. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.

Required: High school graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

• Meets one of the following:
  • Graduate of a Dental Assisting program
  • 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Graduate of a foreign accredited dental or hygiene school
• Possess a current Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer license or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• Possess a current BLS certificate through the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• Willing to work according to the job assigned and over-time requirements as needed (i.e. days, evenings, weekends, and in home care service/outpatient dental clinics in the Metro Health System).
• Access to reliable transportation to travel to all satellite locations or home care facilities as needed.

Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant.

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
• Requires some exposure to chemicals.
