About WOIO/WUABWOIO-19 and WUAB-43 are the CBS and CW affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio. We produce 69.5 hours of live local news, weather, and sports each week, delivering content on a 24/7 basis across digital platforms. WTCL is the only Telemundo station in the Cleveland DMA.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced meteorologist to join Northeast Ohio’s top‑rated First Alert weather team. The ideal candidate will create clear and compelling weather forecasts for all on‑air and online platforms and work effectively with others.
Duties / Responsibilities- Analyze weather data and prepare forecasts for all platforms
- Create clear, impactful graphic presentations using technology, including augmented reality
- Produce videos for social media and station‑owned digital platforms
- Write engaging online stories about the weather
- Conceptualize and implement weather segments for daily all‑weather newscasts
- Other duties as assigned by the News Director or Assistant News Director
- Bachelor’s degree in meteorology
- Prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist
- Strong on‑air communication skills
- Ability to work as part of an on‑air team and weather team
- Creativity in graphic design and presentation
- Proven ability to forecast accurately
- Proficiency with social media platforms
- Valid driver’s license
