Construction Quality Control Technician (QC Tech)
Travel: 70–90% travel to active project sites
About the RoleWe are seeking a Construction Quality Control Technician (QC Tech) to support active heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects. This role is primarily field-based and requires extensive travel to project sites. The QC Tech will be responsible for performing daily quality inspections, maintaining structured documentation, supporting schedule verification, and ensuring work complies with project specifications and regulatory standards.
This is a hands-on position designed for individuals who are comfortable working on active construction sites and who bring both field quality experience and schedule-based project awareness.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct daily quality control inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Review construction activities for conformance with civil, structural, and sitework standards.
- Document field observations, quality checks, photographs, deficiencies, and corrective actions in structured reports.
- Maintain organized QC logs, inspection records, and electronic documentation systems.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
- Track field progress against project schedules and validate installed quantities.
- Support schedule analysis efforts, including documentation that contributes to Time Impact Analysis.
- Participate in project meetings, site walks, and coordination discussions.
- Verify subcontractor performance against defined quality benchmarks and project milestones.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols while performing inspections in active construction environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 3–5 years of experience in scheduling for civil construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience with Time Impact Analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical documents, and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in active project environments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable working in field environments and traveling 70–90% of the time.
- Exposure to field Quality Control or construction inspections.
- Familiarity with heavy civil, infrastructure, roadway, or structural concrete projects.
- Experience working directly with Project Managers and field leadership teams.
