Job Description

AECOM Hunt seeks an experienced Construction Quality Director for a ground‑up project in Cleveland, OH. The Director will be a resource to the project team, overseeing construction quality through all phases.

  • Develop and facilitate quality training sessions and education.
  • Lead job site pre‑installation meetings and provide competency with processes.
  • Lead the field of Quality and demonstrate industry leadership.
  • Manage subcontractor quality plans: review, analyze, and provide detailed feedback.
  • Collaborate with Trade Contractors to create better specific task plans.
  • Research building materials, ensure compliance, and suggest changes as needed.
  • Assist in producing quality presentations for staff and outside architects & engineers.
  • Provide technical advice to field and office personnel and keep accurate records.
  • Identify potential quality issues and recommend remediation.
  • Develop constructability reports and enforce them.
  • Maintain and move the Quality Program forward based on company protocols, policies, and industry trends.
  • Update revisions of the Quality Program, policies, and manual.
  • Analyze loss summary, trending reports, and quality metrics.
  • Coordinate and establish budgets for the Quality Department as needed.
  • Produce quality bulletins based on lessons learned in collaboration with the QA/QC Vice President.
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to develop job‑specific quality procedures.
  • Maintain strong understanding of construction types and science concepts.
  • Work with project managers to develop scopes of work.
  • Review field work, reporting, and photographs of work in place with the project team.
  • Provide accurate reporting of job site walkthroughs, giving directions and suggestions to correct work‑in‑place.
  • Assist in Trade Contractor Job Specific Quality Plan reviews and maintain relationships with the Trade Contractor Quality individual or team.
  • Collaborate with the Project Teams to ensure excellent customer service through continuous improvement and awareness of essential customer needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related curriculum and 10 years of professional Construction Quality Management experience (or equivalent education and 2 years of leadership).
  • Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicle on site.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of ASTM standards and construction testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of building codes and project requirements.
  • Experience in construction trades (envelopes, life safety, interiors, MEP/FP).
  • Experience in large ground‑up projects, especially sports/stadium/arena.
  • 10 years of Construction Quality Management experience.
Physical Demands
  • Construction field roles require physical stamina and mobility, including climbing ladders, stairs, using hoists, and moving through terrain. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Tasks include standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted may be required occasionally.
Work Environment
  • Construction field roles work primarily on active job sites with exposure to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather, and electrical risks. Noise levels may be moderate to high. Employees must wear PPE, remain alert to safety, and may be assigned additional duties as needed.
