Construction Superintendent - Construction - Base Salary to 95k/year - Cleveland, OH

The role is a Union Construction Superintendent working on, supervising, and coordinating projects nationally with 100% travel. Project lengths range from 1 week to approximately 6 months in duration. Home base for travel can be anywhere, but preference for Cleveland, OH or Charleston, SC for easy company office access.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, specs.
  • Perform precise cutting, shaping, fitting and installation of various materials (wood, metal studs, drywall, modular panels, ceiling grids, specialized flooring, and lead sheets/blocks) ensuring seamless integration.
  • Maintain the highest standards of workmanship to ensure all installations meet project specifications, industry standards (e.g., ISO 14644 for clean rooms, specific radiation safety guidelines), and local building codes.
  • Meticulously follow contamination control protocols, including proper gowning, material handling procedures, PPE and waste management.
  • Take decisive leadership on-site, providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative environment for all personnel, including subcontractors and craft labor.
  • Proactively establish and rigorously enforce a safe and efficient work environment, ensuring unwavering compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of on-site progress, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate the work of multiple subcontractors, optimizing workflow and ensuring seamless integration with the master project schedule.
  • Lead Quality Control, Quality Assurance & site Safety (OSHA regulations).
  • Provide clear and timely communication and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise for specialized construction requirements.
  • Proactively identify and resolve construction-related issues and challenges on-site.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or Union Registration is preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 4+ years of proven experience as a commercial or industrial Carpenter / Construction Superintendent for complex commercial or industrial projects.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Experience in cleanroom, dryroom, or controlled environment construction or radiation shielding installation (e.g., lead work) is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations (OSHA 10 or 30).
  • Ability to use various hand and power tools and effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding construction tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.), working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in utilizing project management software and technology for communication, scheduling, and documentation.
Compensation:
  • Base salary to $95,000/year.
  • $700 monthly vehicle allowance; travel expense reimbursement.
  • Allocated number of return home trips depending on project duration/location.
