Sunflower Childcare Substitutes is seeking flexible substitute teachers to support children from infancy through age 12 — especially those with behavioral challenges or experiences related to trauma, foster care, or family court involvement. We work with early learning programs that prioritize emotional safety, consistency, and responsive care.
Ideal candidates have experience managing challenging behaviors and bring a trauma-informed, empathetic approach to their work. If you can meet children where they are — emotionally and developmentally — with patience and professionalism, we’d love to have you on our team.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older with a minimum 6 months of experience in a daycare or early childhood setting
- Experience working with children impacted by trauma or responsive to the emotional needs of vulnerable children is strongly preferred
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED (CDA/Bachelors Degree strongly preferred)
- Must have reliable personal transportation (you re kind of like a mobile rock star)
- Must meet all ODJFS background check requirements, including BCI and FBI screenings prior to offer
Schedule:
- Available Monday–Friday, either 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Willing to work with children of all ages, from infants to 12 years old
- Able to adapt to a variety of classroom settings and team environments
- PTO earned every hour worked
