Sourcing Manager
Job Description
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives that optimize total cost of ownership, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure continuity of supply in support of organizational objectives. This role leads supplier selection, contract negotiations, and category strategies while mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and driving value creation across the supply base. The Sourcing Manager serves as a trusted business partner to Operations, Finance, Quality, and Engineering to align sourcing strategies with demand, capacity, and growth plans.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, demand forecasts, and operational requirements.
+ Lead sourcing initiatives including RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and award recommendations.
+ Manage assigned spend categories and continuously evaluate market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers.
+ Drive total cost of ownership improvements through cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and value engineering.
+ Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers to ensure a competitive, resilient, and compliant supply base.
+ Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, terms, service levels, risk mitigation, and performance expectations.
+ Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and governance routines.
+ Partner with suppliers to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and risk mitigation initiatives.
+ Collaborate closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to align sourcing decisions with production, quality, and budgetary requirements.
+ Support new product introductions (NPI) and change management initiatives through early supplier engagement.
+ Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to capacity, quality, financial stability, and geopolitical factors.
+ Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain audit-ready documentation for contracts, supplier approvals, and sourcing decisions.
+ Analyze spend data, supplier performance, and market intelligence to inform sourcing strategies.
+ Track and report cost savings, cost avoidance, and sourcing performance metrics.
+ Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing processes and procurement effectiveness.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
+ 5-8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
+ Demonstrated success leading supplier negotiations and sourcing initiatives with measurable cost and performance outcomes.
+ Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging spend data and market insights.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Master's degree or MBA.
+ Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or regulated industries.
+ Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
+ Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM) a plus.
+ Experience supporting global or multi-site sourcing operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $72.00/hr.
