PUBLIC PROGRAMS & LIVE MUSIC INTERN
If you're passionate about pursuing a career in live music or community engagement programming, the Rock Hall's Public Programs & Live Music Internship offers the perfect opportunity to refine your skills and demonstrate your potential. This role provides invaluable industry experience, paired with personalized mentorship from our Director of Production & Live Events and the Manager of Public Events & Programs, making it an exceptional steppingstone for your professional growth.
TASKS & DUTIES
- Correspondence with bands, artists, and clients
- Coordinate with community partners and attend outreach events
- Serve as onsite point of contact during events and live shows
- Work with our Artist in Residence program; written and photo documentation during industry sessions
- Create and distribute company wide communications regarding weekly summer programs
- Track attendance patterns for events
- Attend meetings and collaboration discussions
- Create a database of local and national touring artists/bands for 2025 to include measurables such as attendance and revenue
- Research new potential community partners that align with Rock Hall mission, priorities, and DEIA initiatives
- Work on community outreach plans for 2026 Induction ceremony
- Attention to detail and proven organizational & planning skills
- Flexible and able to adjust to changing demands
- Quick at assessing situations, identifying potential issues, and creating solutions
- Passionate about working with others in group settings with a customer service mentality
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Must be proficient in computer skills including Office 365
- Available to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Intern applicants must be currently enrolled in a college (preferably entering senior year after summer 2026) or graduate school program.
Details
- Rock Hall internships are paid positions, and for enrichment purposes must be willing to work within other departments.
- The internship is onsite, starting May 20th and ending July 31st. Exact end dates could be later with some internships.
- Estimated weekly hours for this internship: 35 hours
The Rock Hall is a world-renowned institution and a pillar in the museum and music industries. The internships we host are no different. Not only will all interns get an in depth, project-based learning and working experience, but all interns will also participate in an organization wide internship experience. Weekly career development sessions and or panels with Rock Hall staff will ensure you are getting the most out of your time at the Rock Hall and completing the summer with new tools and resources when it comes to beginning your career.
All intern positions will get a chance to learn firsthand how we create the world class guest experience for our visitors from around the globe. Lastly, all our interns will get to experience summer at the Rock Hall and Cleveland, getting to know the city that helped build Rock & Roll, and all of the events and excitement we curate each summer.
