What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a driven, articulate, and mission-aligned Business Development Representative (BDR) to help accelerate our growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying new opportunities within federal, state, and local government agencies.
The BDR serves as the front line of our sales organization, responsible for generating qualified leads and creating new business pipeline. You will research government agencies, identify high-value prospects, and play a critical role in connecting public sector leaders with technology that modernizes government operations.
This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about technology, energized by public-sector impact, and excited to grow their career in SaaS sales.
- Conduct outbound outreach (email, phone, Linked In, events) to federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Research and map agency structures, decision-makers, and procurement cycles to identify the right contacts.
- Maintain a high daily/weekly cadence of outreach aligned with measurable activity metrics.
Qualification
- Engage with prospects to understand pain points, workflows, and modernization needs.
- Deliver clear value propositions and product messaging tailored to government audiences.
- Assess lead quality and schedule discovery calls or demos for Account Executives.
Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to refine messaging, share market insights, and improve lead quality. - Update CRM systems (e.g. Confluence) with accurate activity logs and pipeline data.
- Participate in weekly pipeline reviews and contribute to sales forecasting.
- Develop expertise in our Gov Tech SaaS platform, government procurement processes, and regulatory environments.
- Stay informed of agency modernization priorities, grant funding opportunities, and industry trends.
What You Bring:
Required
- 1–3 years of sales, business development, or customer-facing experience (SaaS or Gov Tech preferred).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to speak to public-sector audiences.
- High level of organization, persistence, and self-motivation.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Confluence)
- Ability to learn quickly and articulate technical concepts in simple terms.
Preferred
- Experience selling into government agencies or familiarity with government procurement processes which can often have long sales cycles
- Knowledge of public sector operations, compliance standards, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding activity-based metrics.
Salary Range:
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 annually. This is a good faith estimate, and final compensation may vary based on experience and skills.
