Supply Chain SpecialistThis individual will work in collaboration with Purchasing, Planning, Marketing and Operations to drive continuous improvement in key areas including cost reduction, inventory management, on time delivery and operational efficiency for all labels. The role will be based out of Oakwood Village, Ohio, and report directly to the Director of Supply Chain and Operations.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement best-in-class inventory management strategies incorporating reorder points and Kanban lean methodologies.
- Procurement:
Purchase private and branded labels from correct vendor while optimizing costs and maintaining quality. - Order Management:
Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities and delivery dates. - Supplier Relationship Management:
Build, maintain and evaluate supplier performance to ensure reliable material flow. - Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels to support production schedules, ensuring compliance with SAGE X3 or other inventory systems. - Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies. - Support ERP system upgrades and enhancements related to supply chain and operations functions.
- Lead projects focused on operational objectives including capacity improvement, efficiency improvement, lower costs and other initiatives.
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, tracking/managing budget expenses, sourcing and vendor relationships in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related field is often preferred. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/inventory management systems (Sage 100 & Sage X3). - Competencies:
Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational and communication skills. - Ability to effectively deploy all sourcing-related policies, procedures and methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and process-focused environment, driving for continuous efficiency and improvement.
- Outstanding communication and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to take initiative and provide feedback on status of projects, identify obstacles and offer recommendations on risk mitigation.

This is a full-time, on-site, Monday through Friday, day shift position.
