About

The Role

This role leads a sales team that promotes life‑changing treatments for serious neurological, endocrine, and psychiatric disorders. The successful candidate will recruit and develop a high‑performing team, exceed sales goals within an assigned region, manage key projects, and collaborate with cross‑functional commercial teams. Responsibilities include strategic direction, field coaching, specialty pharmacy fulfillment access strategies, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Your Contributions
  • Leadership & Talent Management
    • Lead, develop, and retain a regional sales team
    • Provide strategic direction, performance coaching, and onboarding
  • Strategy & Execution
    • Implement regional sales strategies to meet or exceed objectives
    • Develop targeted strategies for psychiatric and neurological markets
    • Identify opportunities and remove barriers to regional success
    • Foster innovative sales approaches and best practices
  • Performance Management
    • Analyze sales data and market trends for strategic decisions
    • Hold team accountable for sales strategies and objectives
    • Coach field performance and provide regular feedback
  • Business Operations
    • Manage regional budgets and expenses effectively
    • Ensure compliance with Neurocrine policies, FDA guidelines, and industry standards
    • Maintain open communication between field teams and headquarters
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals
    • Engage with local professional and patient advocacy groups
    • Coordinate with pharmacies and payers to optimize market access
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Align with marketing, training, sales operations, and other departments
Requirements
  • BS/BA + 8+ years of sales experience in biotech/pharma, with 3+ years of first‑line sales management
  • Master’s + 6+ years of experience (alternative to the BS/BA path)
  • PhD + 4+ years of experience (alternative to the BS/BA path)
  • Strong sales disposition and business acumen
  • Proven sales performance (meeting/exceeding quotas, rankings, recognition awards)
  • Successful launch experience in complex, competitive environments
  • Effective change management and ability to act without complete information
  • Composure under pressure
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset suitable for fast‑paced environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $165,600 to $227,000, depending on location and experience. The role includes an incentive compensation plan with a target of $60,000 annually and equity‑based long‑term incentive eligibility. Benefits include a retirement savings plan with company match, paid vacation, holidays, personal days, caregiver/parental leave, medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.
