Summary of Responsibilities

Assurance Seniors will be responsible for performing on a variety of engagements under the engagement Manager. Responsible for conducting several client engagements simultaneously, while working under the direction of a Partner or Manager. Oversee Staff during audit engagement and assist with training Interns and Staff. Meet billable hour and annual CPA requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of a Supervisor, Manager or Partner.
  • Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and Firm standards.
  • Meets time constraints and client deadlines.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements.
  • Directs and instructs Interns and Staff, where applicable, on job engagements.
  • Determines extent of substantive testing required in an audit and selects the transactions to be tested.
  • Prepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial statements.
  • Prepares routine correspondence to client for approval and signature of a Partner; writes comments for management letters.
  • Drafts reports including footnotes.
  • Performs the broadest range of accounting tasks so that direct participation of Supervisors, Managers or Partners is kept to a minimum.
  • Proactively maintains contact with the client throughout the year.
  • Directs fieldwork daily, informs job Managers of the engagement status, and oversees Staff performance.
  • Develops Interns and Staff through effectively delegating tasks supervising and providing guidance.
  • Provides performance feedback and training and conducts job evaluations.
  • Shares ideas and opinions with the audit team and others, while attentively listening and responding to the contributions of fellow team members.
  • Uses technology to continually learn, shares knowledge with team members, and enhances service delivery.
  • Maintains an educational program to continually develop skills.
  • Prepares other reports and performs projects and duties as may be assigned.
Education & Experience Required
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
  • Obtained a CPA license or eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Access, Outlook & accounting software packages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Integrity within a professional environment.
  • Advanced understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and application to client situations.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent same day travel for work at client’s offices, meetings and seminars using a personal vehicle.
  • Occasional out‑of‑town travel with overnight stay for work at clients, meetings or seminars using personal vehicle.
  • Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Overtime work required from January to April 15; may be in excess of 55 hours per week.
