Stevens Engineers & Constructors has an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time
Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Cleveland Operations Team. We welcome candidates who are currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, in the latter part of their degree program, as well as individuals with prior accounting or accounts payable experience who are seeking a consistent part-time opportunity. The Accounts Payable Assistant position is responsible for performing clerical and technical support activities with the Accounting Department.
This position assists with accounts payable functions, vendor documentation tracking, and compliance monitoring to ensure accurate records and audit-ready files.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following- Provide administrative support for the Accounting Department.
- File and maintain accounts payable documentation in both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Assist with vendor statement reconciliation.
- Perform accurate data entry into accounting and document management systems.
- Monitor vendor prequalification status and track renewal deadlines.
- Track and verify vendor insurance certificates and related documentation.
- Maintain minority business certifications and associated compliance records.
- Follow up with vendors regarding missing, expiring, or incomplete compliance documentation.
- Organize and maintain compliance files in an audit-ready format.
- Assist with preparation of internal reports related to vendor compliance and accounts payable as required.
- Scan, copy, and distribute documents as needed.
- Other activities may be required to be performed as needed.
Must be organized, accurate, and thorough, with strong attention to detail.
Be dependable and able to manage recurring responsibilities independently.
Must be able to prioritize work activities and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and orally.
Must use discretion in handling confidential financial and vendor information.
Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently.
Must be able to monitor work for quality.
Computer
Skills:
Proficient in computer skills in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
