Accounting Manager – Financial Systems & Operations

📍 Cleveland, OH | Hybrid (On-site as needed)

We’re hiring a forward-thinking Accounting Manager to help lead and modernize our financial operations. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, systems, and operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, improving workflows, and partnering across the business to scale efficiently.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with meaningful ownership over both day‑to‑day accounting and a major ERP transition.

• Own day‑to‑day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, cash management, and month‑end close
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies, and accounting processes
• Play a key role in our transition from Quick Books to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
• Partner closely with Operations, Billing, and IT to ensure clean integration with our TMS (Port Pro) and other systems
• Oversee AR collections, billing accuracy, payment workflows, and automation initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and support accounting staff through process improvements and system changes
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and data visibility across finance

• 7–12 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong background in month‑end close and transactional accounting
• Hands‑on experience with accounting systems beyond basic Quick Books
• Prior involvement in an ERP implementation or system migration (Dynamics, Net Suite, Sage, etc.)
• Comfortable driving process change and working cross‑functionally
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to operate in a fast‑moving environment

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/Quick Books
• Background in transportation, logistics, or other transaction‑heavy industries
• CPA or CMA

• Direct exposure to senior leadership and operational decision‑making
• Meaningful ownership in an ERP migration and finance modernization initiative
• Ability to shape and build the accounting function as the business scales
