Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Bedford Heights, Ohio. This contract position with the potential for long-term employment offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closing tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to support the smooth functioning of our finance department.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate payment handling and invoice reconciliation.

- Perform credit card reconciliations and match purchase orders with corresponding invoices.

- Assist in monthly and annual financial closing procedures, including preparing necessary documentation and reports.

- Monitor and maintain financial records to ensure compliance and accuracy.

- Collaborate with internal teams to provide timely and accurate financial information.

- Respond to vendor and customer inquiries related to financial transactions and accounts.

- Utilize accounting software to process transactions and maintain records efficiently.

- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to support business operations.

- Conduct variance analyses and support budgeting activities as required.

- Complete additional accounting and administrative tasks assigned by management. Requirements - Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Experience with credit card reconciliations and matching purchase orders.

- Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Ability to work with accounting software, preferably On Automatica.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors, customers, and team members.

- Prior experience in a similar accounting role is preferred.
