This role offers the chance to work directly with clients on meaningful, high-impact engagements within a people-focused, growth-oriented environment.
As a Tax Senior Accountant on the Business Tax Services team, you will deliver strategic tax services to operating businesses owned by private equity firms or closely held owners. You’ll work across C-Corps, S-Corps, and Partnerships, navigating complex structures while providing insight, accuracy, and compliance. This position offers significant exposure, client interaction, and opportunities for professional development within a collaborative team.
Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns for closely held businesses and private equity portfolio companies (C-Corps, S-Corps, Partnerships).
- Conduct technical tax research and advise on complex issues impacting operations and investments.
- Identify opportunities for tax efficiencies, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
- Stay informed on evolving tax laws and best practices to ensure accurate and strategic guidance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by delivering proactive solutions aligned with client goals.
- Communicate complex tax matters clearly and provide actionable recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams to drive collaboration and long-term success.
- Manage timelines and deliverables to ensure a high-quality client experience.
- Coach and mentor staff to strengthen technical skills and client service capabilities.
- Oversee workflow, staffing, and engagement planning for timely, accurate work delivery.
- Share knowledge, provide feedback, and support team development.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and professional environment across engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required;
Master’s preferred. - CPA license required.
- Experience preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for closely held businesses and/or private equity portfolio companies.
- Strong understanding of business tax structures, C-Corps, S-Corps, and Partnerships.
- Excellent technical research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex tax issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software; comfort adopting new technology tools.
- Experience with personal tax compliance (1040s).
- Exposure to multi-state tax planning and compliance.
- Experience mentoring or leading staff.
