Job SummaryThe Coordinator – Storeroom supports the effective operation of the facility’s supply chain by overseeing daily storeroom functions, including receiving, stocking, distributing, and tracking inventory. This position maintains accurate records, ensures timely replenishment of critical supplies, and provides support to clinical and non-clinical departments to meet operational needs efficiently.
Essential Functions- Receives incoming supplies and verifies packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Organizes and stocks inventory in designated storage areas following FIFO and infection control protocols.
- Fulfills and delivers supply orders to clinical and administrative departments as requested.
- Tracks inventory usage, assists with reorders, and maintains appropriate stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensures storeroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Uses inventory management systems to document transactions and track supplies.
- Coordinates returns, backorders, and damaged goods with vendors and procurement staff.
- Assists with physical inventory counts and audits for reconciliation purposes.
- Provides support during emergency events to ensure rapid supply distribution.
- May train or direct other storeroom staff in daily activities and procedures.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and materials handling practices.
- Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other storeroom equipment safely.
- Familiarity with medical supplies, equipment, and supply chain procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, inventory systems).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- None required.
- Certification in supply chain management or materials handling preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
- Healthcare supply chain experience preferred.
