This position is located in the Lauderdale County Parole and Probation Office. Journey level law enforcement position is more technical in nature than the first level but still involves patrolling and enforcing relevant laws within their jurisdiction. This position will be responsible for the supervision of a caseload of approximately 120 probationer and parolees. Maintain records;
Assess risk levels of probationers, parolees and those sentenced to house arrest. Coordinates re-entry services and treatment with program coordinators. Work is performed under direct supervision of law enforcement staff/personnel of higher classifications. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
What you'll need to be Successful
Must be able to abide by the MS State Personnel Board and MDOC rules, regulations, and procedures governing the agency and ensure the safety, security, and order of the facility. Must be able to operate in accordance with state and federal laws.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires possession of a State of Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certification and 1-2 year of experience in law enforcement.
