Director of Nursing (DON)

The Mission
As our DON, you aren't just managing a floor; you’re the heartbeat of our clinical operations. You will ensure our residents receive world-class care while fostering a culture of transparency, innovation, and genuine connection.
- Quality: Direct the clinical team to ensure every resident receives the highest standard of personalized care.
- Builds Community: Facilitate open, empathetic communication between residents, families, and our dedicated staff.
- Stay Sharp: Maintain 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (because excellence is in the details).
- Innovate & Educate: Modernize nursing standards, update policies, and set clear, ambitious goals for the department.
- Collaborate: Partner with hospitals, physicians, and pharmacies to create a seamless circle of care.
- Lead the Way: Act as a key voice in leadership team decisions and provide essential on-call support to keep our facility thriving.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for a mix of clinical expertise, regulatory savvy, and "people first" leadership.
The Essentials:
- Credentials: Valid, unencumbered OH RN License
. - Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Experience: At least 3 years of clinical experience in long-term care.
- Leadership: Prior DON or ADON experience is a major plus.
- Regulatory IQ: Deep knowledge of Federal regulations,
CMI
, and PDPM
. - The "Extras":
Experience with
QAPI
, staff development, PPD management, and labor retention.
The
Soft Skills:
- Technology : Intermediate computer proficiency;
PCC (Point Click Care ) skills are preferred. - Organization: Elite time management skills—you know how to prioritize when it matters most.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; you’re a pro at de-escalating and inspiring.
- Flexibility: The ability to work the schedule necessary to ensure our residents are always supported.
