Building​/Ground Specialist II- Evergreen

Job Summary

Performs routine institutional custodial duties as part of a team of skilled custodians. Assists in maintaining inventory, ordering and distributing supplies in the assigned area. Performs other duties as assigned. This posting is not for a specific role but is for Building/Ground Specialist II opportunities within the University as they become available.

• 60% - Essential - Housekeeping: Performs housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, polishing floors, waxing, buffing, and both dry and wet stripping floors. Uses a buffing machine, wet-and-dry vacuum, roto washer, and shampoos carpet using a carpet extractor.
• 20% - Essential - Inspecting and Data Management: Accompanies supervisor while conducting inspections of buildings, discusses results, follows safety guidance, assists in testing new cleaning products, and updates records regarding use and performance.
• 10% - Essential - Inventory and Equipment Maintenance: Assists in maintaining inventory, ordering, and distributing supplies; requests new products; keeps abreast of equipment standards; inspects and restocks restrooms.
• 10% - Essential - Training and On‑Call Support: Completes on‑job training and related educational instruction as outlined in the Custodial training program, responds to emergency, weekend, and snow callbacks.

• Experience in custodial, housekeeping, or pest control work directly related to the area.
• Work experience:

• Education:
  
  High School or Equivalent;
  Certification in Custodial Services.
• License:
  Driver’s License Class D, normal
