Job Summary

Plans, implements, and evaluates activities related to the College of Business CUBS program. Provides academic advising/mentoring for College of Business CUBS program students. Supervised by Director of Powers College of Business Academic Advising Center, provides academic advising functions to include student services, retention and special program events and activities. Actively assists recruiting each year s CUBS cohort. Provides a welcoming and supportive office atmosphere.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties
  • 50% - Essential - Special Programs:
    Create, plan, promote, implement, and oversee a comprehensive schedule of CUBS events for the academic year. Participate in appropriate workshops and university meetings. Attend LLC monthly council meetings. Guides and works closely with the CUBS Leadership Committee. May attend annual LLC or Advising conference. Track student s completion of events for attendance at end of year awards dinner. Track student s completion to meet the professional development and soft skills certificate in conjunction with the Student Enrichment s CU Business Edge program.

    Communicate and coordinate with housing staff (Assistant Director of Residential Learning, Assignment staff, Graduate Community Directors, Graduate Community Directors, and Resident Assistance and other housing staff) as needed. Meet regularly with supervisor to ensure success of the CUBS program.
  • 25% - Essential - Academic Advising:
    Support success in academic programs by monitoring individual CUBS students  progress against established degree requirements and providing corrective action as needed to ensure student success. In both one-on-one and group settings, independently provides guidance and recommendations to current and prospective students regarding course selection and registration, career overview, academic program changes, graduation requirements, and personal development.
  • 15% - Essential - Recruiting:
    Support recruiting activities with prospective students by providing accurate information regarding the admissions process, degree requirements, career opportunities, and facts about College of Business academic programs. Represents the College of Business in university, college, and Academic Advising Center recruitment activities. Assist in the development of procedures to recruit and retain the highest caliber of students possible for the College of Business CUBS living learning community.

    Assist, as needed, staff/faculty with promoting CUBS through involvement with our college recruiter, live stream, admissions, family visits, and other university recruiting events.
  • 10% - Essential - Student Services:
    Refer students to appropriate campus services, as required by the student s circumstances. Participates in freshman and transfer orientation. Assist with preparation for CUBS students attending orientation. During freshman orientation, meet with CUBS students and assist as needed. Represent the College of Business at undergraduate events and workshops. Participate in College of Business Advising Center retention activities such as Success Matters.
Minimum Requirements

Education - 1st Bachelor s Degree

Experience in student services programs.

Preferred Requirements

Education - 1st Master s Degree - Education, Counseling

Work Exp 2+ years
