Operations Engineer, Production Manager

Position OverviewThe Senior Production Planner plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by owning the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and executing material requirements planning across multiple production lines. This position is responsible for planning over 3,500 SKUs, supporting service and spare parts demand, and ensuring efficient material flow through the plant. The ideal candidate will bring strong ERP experience, advanced Excel capabilities, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
This individual will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, production, purchasing, and supply chain teams to maintain schedule integrity and drive operational efficiency.
- Own and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for assigned product lines.
- Execute and review daily and weekly MRP outputs.
- Release production orders and maintain system accuracy.
- Analyze capacity constraints, labor requirements, and material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with service and production targets.
- Incorporate engineering changes and new product introductions into production plans.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to expedite materials as needed.
- Maintain item master data and support ERP system integrity.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and drive process enhancements.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production, and supply chain teams to ensure schedule adherence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ERP experience required (Microsoft D365 highly preferred; SAP acceptable).
- Proven experience managing high-SKU environments and multiple production lines.
- Strong Excel skills required.
- Experience in service and spare parts planning preferred.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
