Director of Nationwide Retail Sales

Position Overview

As the Director of Nationwide Retail Sales, you hold a pivotal role in driving revenue, managing our sales team across multiple regions, and aligning sales strategies with company goals. This role requires proven experience leading direct-to-consumer retail sales and managing multiple retail store locations across multiple states. You will oversee individual contributors’ performance, coach and train team members in Ulrich’s sales process and principles, and ensure a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture.

Your leadership and strategic oversight will drive growth and profitability across the territories you manage.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee direct-to-consumer sales operations and implement strategic sales plans within all, currently three, territories nationwide
  • Supervise the operation and performance of all regional retail store locations
  • Supporting planogram development and new site selection
  • Overseeing the approval and opening of new retail locations
  • Lead and support a team of retail sales professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer experience standards
  • Work with company leadership to establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing quarterly and annual sales quotas for the territory
  • Implement regional sales programs by developing digital and field sales action plans
  • Track sales performance, store activity, traffic, and conversion rates
  • Complete sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on results
  • Counsel and correct staff behavior as needed to maintain team performance
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise team performance and results

Skills & Abilities

  • Must have experience managing multiple direct-to-consumer retail store locations across multiple states
  • History of building a high-performance team with an accountable sales culture
  • Experience in setting and forecasting sales targets
  • Tech-savvy with strong computer skills (able to type quickly and navigate systems efficiently)
  • Knowledge of social media and online marketing
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, KPIs, and customer trends; possess the ability and willingness to produce, analyze, and present data to improve sales outcomes
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions
  • 5+ years of sales experience
  • Punctual with a positive attitude and personal drive to exceed goals
  • Persuasive and comfortable closing sales
  • Highly coachable, with the ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge
  • Attention to detail and process requirements
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Time management and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (preferred)
  • CRM experience (Hub Spot preferred)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs if needed

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annualized base pay: $90,000 - $130,000 (depending on experience)

Work Location & Hours

  • Work hours will vary Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Some Saturdays will be required to support the team. All stores are closed on Sundays.
  • Approximately 30% travel is expected, primarily to support our retail teams in California and Virginia. Travel to Texas stores is considered part of regular field operations and not included in the travel estimate. The Director is expected to visit multiple store locations weekly and spend at least one day in the corporate office.
