What You’ll Be Doing:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform emergency repairs to various types of industrial machines in production area.
Operate power equipment in accordance to OSHA and company safety standards.
Notify maintenance and supervisor of needed machine repairs or areas of maintenance concern.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED
3 or more years mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting & repair, and safe work practices
Experience working in production environment.
Be able to read building and electrical schematics.
Possess excellent skills and techniques in repairing and maintaining industrial/production machines.
Should have basic math skills.
Should have excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
Must be able to work independently and efficiently in an often fast-paced environment.
