Provides ongoing therapy and skills training for children and youth with mental illness and their families across school, home, and community settings. Responsible for intake assessments, coordination, and implementation of recovery plans, while collaborating with schools, juvenile probation, and other social service agencies.
Job SummaryThe clinician will deliver cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed care tailored to youth populations, ensuring continuity of care across locations. In‑region travel is required; occasional out‑of‑region travel may be necessary for training.
Responsibilities- Provide therapy or skills training to children, youth, and families using approved modalities.
- Complete standardized assessments to identify individual needs and strengths.
- Document services in an electronic health record, collaborating with other providers.
- Maintain productivity standards set by the agency.
- Communicate with referring and collaborating agencies.
- Manage a flexible schedule and time‑management to meet clients’ needs.
- Travel between service locations as assigned.
- Participate in data collection activities and peer review processes.
- Working knowledge of mental health and substance‑abuse services.
- Understanding of normal and atypical childhood development.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EHR systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Independent work style with strong organization.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Preferred: bilingual Spanish/English.
- Master’s degree in a human services field (required). Licensure as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred; LPC‑Associate, LMSW under supervision, or LMFT‑A within 6 months of full licensure considered.
- Minimum of two years of experience with mentally ill youth in a community setting; experience with play therapy is a plus.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, reach overhead, and sit for extended periods; driving within the region is required.
