Friendship Baptist Church is seeking a Student Minister to lead our ministry for students in grades 7–12. This role focuses on reaching students with the gospel of Jesus Christ and discipling them to become mature followers of Jesus.
Qualifications- A heart transformed by the grace and gospel of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle that reflects Christ both inside and outside the church. (1 Timothy 3:1–7, Galatians 5:22–23)
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Previous experience in student ministry preferred (volunteer or paid).
- Some education or training in ministry, theology, or a related field is preferred.
- Agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Demonstrates appropriate, healthy, and professional interactions with students, families, and staff, maintaining conduct that is above reproach.
- Willingness to become a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
- Humble, teachable spirit with openness to feedback and accountability.
- A servant leader with a strong work ethic and a “first in, last out” mentality.
- Ability to resolve conflict and address challenges with wisdom, discernment, impartiality, and patience.
- Provide overall ministerial care and spiritual leadership for students and their families, encouraging growth in faith through prayer, biblical counseling, and commitment to Christ.
- Provide vision, direction, and leadership for the student ministry in alignment with Friendship Baptist Church’s mission, values, and theology.
- Consistently proclaim the gospel and make much of Jesus in every aspect of the student ministry.
- Plan, execute, and attend all student programs and activities (Sunday School, Wednesday nights, summer gatherings, D-now, camps, retreats, and mission trips)
- Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings and church member meetings.
- Recruit, train, and support student ministry volunteers.
- Create and manage an annual budget; track expenses and ensure financial stewardship.
- Ensure compliance with church safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular contact with parents, providing updates about upcoming activities and events and equipping them to disciple their students.
- Attend worship services and church events, while encouraging students to do likewise.
- Perform other ministry tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
- Competency with Pro Presenter, Planning Center, Canva, sound systems, and social media platforms.
- Reside within reasonable proximity to the church (within one hour).
