Maintenance Technician Full-Time

Maintain buildings, equipment, grounds; perform maintenance and repairs as needed. Perform inspections of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms, A/C filters; maintain fleet vehicles; assist with moving files and furniture; perform other duties as needed or required.

• Must have working knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
• Must have basic automobile maintenance knowledge.
• Must be able to do heavy lifting (move furniture, etc.) and operate required equipment (power tools, hand tools, ladders).
• Must be able to take the lead on projects and coordinate with Manager.
• Other duties as needed or required.

Education:

High School Grad or GED.

Two years minimum experience with maintenance work that includes electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. General contracting/construction experience preferred.

Computer literate.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Negative drug screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
• Clear criminal background check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually; DCF Level II prior to hire.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License, vehicle checks prior to hire and annually, acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment, reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.
• Must have valid Florida driver license and agency‑approved driver status.
• Must provide official transcripts.

• Work performed indoors and outdoors.
• Requires driving company vehicle; must meet insurance requirements.
• Travel required between agency locations and surrounding community.
• Some cleanup and handling of hazardous material may be required.
