Overview

Astaras, Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator for our Densalloy Tungsten Heavy Alloy manufacturing facility in Clearwater, FL.

We seek a skilled CNC and Machine Operator who will be responsible for producing precision parts and components according to specifications. The role requires a strong understanding of programming, tooling, and quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of production.

• Primary Responsibilities:
• Assessment of machining requirements for new jobs.
• Supervision of all manual and CNC machining performed on-site.
• Creation of new CNC programs as needed.
• Participation in hands-on machining of WHA parts.
• Preservation of traceability through all machine shop procedures.
• Safety of self and others at all times.

• Ensures the entire work area and equipment stay clean.
• Organizes storage of tooling - applying "visual factory" principles.
• Continual improvement of machining (QMS).
• Prevention of part handling damage.
• Pursues continual improvement and risk reduction (QMS).
• Monitoring of new tooling and supplies needs.
• Any other task assigned by Management.

• Associate s degree or equivalent.

• Minimum of 5 years of work in a machine shop environment.

• In-depth understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to interpret, rework, and create 2D and 3D drawings.
• In-depth understanding of machining methods, tools, and fixturing.
• Proficiency with wire EDM.
• Creation of new CNC programs for multiple machines.
• Good computer skills with common PC software; ability to learn and implement software security measures as needed.
• Familiarity with best practices for metrology of machined parts.
• Prior hands-on experience with CMM.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
