Operations Manager
SDI is a national distributor of Division 10 products including restroom partitions, accessories, visual display boards and lockers is seeking a responsible Construction Project Manager to administer and organize certain aspects of commercial construction projects.
Construction Project Manager responsibilities include working closely with the General Manager to prepare submittals, track and review approvals, prepare purchase orders, track and coordinate delivery of product, obtain vendor pricing, prepare change order requests, track and follow up on various administrative processes. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure appropriate field activities are on track.
This is a fast paced, multi-tasking environment with a heavy emphasis on phone and email communications. SDI is a specialty contractor, attention to detail is a key aspect to the success of our business. To succeed in this role, you should also possess excellent time management and communication skills as you'll be collaborating with both clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
Ultimately, the Construction Project Manager's duties are to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget while meeting high quality standards. You will also assist with project estimating periodically.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Review project scope and contract requirements with internal team, General Manager, and Operations Managers
- Issue / request / track / maintain all required Construction Project documentation such as Subcontracts, Change Orders, Drawings, Specifications, Submittals, Purchase Orders, Vendor Acknowledgements, etc.
- Key contact person during Lifetime of Project
- Order and track materials and supplies to ensure accurate and on - time deliveries
- Accurately and Effectively communicate all relevant project information to the client and internal team
- Assist with planning and coordination of all project related administrative activities
- Incorporate company standardized procedures to maintain consistent, uniform appearance for all company documents
- Assist with estimating of projects
- Ensure clients needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
- Monitor project progress and work with management to handle issues that may impact client satisfaction and company objectives
- Report results, goals, issues and status to General Manager
- This a 100% In-Office Position
- Impressive planning, organization and project management skills
- Excellent time management skills with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to multi-task on several projects in varying stages of completion
- Attention to detail / accuracy in part numbers, specification compliance and financial data
- Efficient use of resources, systems and tools to achieve objectives
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze data, develop information based on that data and engage senior lever executives with findings
- Commitment to company, teammates and customers
- High Proficiency in Excel is a must
- Experience working with Project Management software a plus. (Pro Core, Sage, Viewpoint, etc.)
- Ability to work in a team environment with a commitment to excellence
- 3+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR POSITION
- DEMONSTRATED ACCURACY AND THOROUGHNESS
- COMPLETES WORK IN A TIMELY MANNER AND STRIVES TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
- EASILY ADAPTS TO CHANGES IN WORK ENVIRONMENT
Expected hours: 40 hours per week. Overtime will be required at times.
