Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and being knowledgeable with account base in assigned market segments and territory. The Sales Manager is also accountable for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to generate revenue to positively impact hotel and will serve as an ambassador to the hotel and represent the Biltmore during all client interaction and networking events. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).

Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and being knowledgeable with account base in assigned market segments and territory. The Sales Manager is also accountable for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to generate revenue to positively impact hotel and will serve as an ambassador to the hotel and represent the Biltmore during all client interaction and networking events. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).
Responsibilities- Answer the telephone internally and externally.
- Greet guests and qualify the needs of the consumer on the phone.
- Create accounts and bookings in Delphi according to Delphi standards.
- Use Agilisys to check the hotel’s room inventory and availability.
- Draft and issue proposals.
- Draft and issue letter of agreements.
- Contact customer for follow up.
- Meet and greet onsite contacts.
- Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel with clients.
- Participate in active solicitation program.
- Draft pre and post trip reports for sales trips.
- Preparation of required month end report.
- Preparation of required weekly sales minutes.
- Regular attendance in compliance with the hotel’s policies.
- Attend line-up and weekly sales meetings.
- Attend daily Business Review.
- Attend bi-weekly one on ones with the Senior Director of Sales & Catering to review market and performance.
- Preparation of action plans for marketing plan.
- Education
- Associates degree is required. Bachelor’s Degree related to the industry is preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum three to five years of experience in a sales related role. Prior Hospitality experience preferred. Independent, luxury, and multiple properties preferred.
Must be able to:

- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
- Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.
