Position Summary

This is a professional position providing director level program management of the Children’s Outpatient (COP) program under the Outpatient Services Division. COP provides children’s therapy, behavioral health case management and High‑Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) services that are designed for children who have experienced trauma, including loss and grief, depression, anxiety, abuse histories and addictions. These services are provided both in office and in the community.

COP services can be for the individual or the family, and assists in managing mild to moderate behavioral or emotional needs which can stem from trauma, including school behavior difficulties, adoption related issues, thoughts of suicide or self‑harm, abuse histories, and addictions. All COP programming utilizes a solution‑focused, family centered approach and evidence‑based or research‑supported practices to assist children and families in problem solving skills, behavior strategies, and anger management skills, among other therapeutic interventions.

The Director of Children’s Outpatient Services will play an integral role in initiating and setting goals for programs according to the organization’s strategic plan that involves planning operations processes to meet deadlines, milestones, manage budgets, and developing effective business practices to meet outcomes and goals. This position requires an ability to conceptualize Directions for Living’s organizational strategy and to accurately measure success.

The Director of Children’s Outpatient Services must have excellent communication, organization, and budget management skills, and be able to work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and community partners to meet goals and achieve success.

The Director of Children’s Outpatient Services will be responsible for overseeing COP programming administered by a team of COP supervisors and is responsible for ensuring that program supervisors meet program goals and outcomes. This is an office position that also requires field work. The Director of Children’s Outpatient Services is responsible for ensuring an annual client‑facing client care number of 17,766 hours which reflects a minimum of 1,410 hours of client‑facing client care per Intensive Case Manager and Children’s Care Coordinator, and 11,316 hours of client‑facing client care per Counselor.

Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly and annual client‑facing client care hours is an essential function of this position.

Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living Team Members must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation. Essential Team Members may be required to work in the field, be “on call depending on the needs of the individual being served.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related area of study from an accredited university with five (5) years of supervisory experience and have at least three (3) years of experience working with at‑risk populations to include families experiencing substance misuse, domestic violence, mental health, and emotionally disturbed children.
  • Florida licensure as an LMFT, LMHC or LCSW preferred, not required.
  • Must become certified as a Wraparound Facilitator in high‑fidelity Wraparound and become certified as a Wraparound Facilitator Supervisor/Coach within three months of employment. Preference will be given to individuals who are currently certified as a Wraparound Facilitator Supervisor/Coach in high‑fidelity Wraparound.
  • Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) preferred.
