A global provider of sustainable industrial solutions is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join their team in Clearwater.
This position is part of a specialized division focused on advanced water technologies that protect both people and the environment. In this role, you’ll support initiatives that strengthen global industrial operations while contributing to long-term environmental sustainability.
Position OverviewThe Electrical Controls Engineer will work closely with an engineering team to deliver technical and design support for both sales and operations. This role involves assisting with equipment design, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring deliverables meet proposal requirements, performance criteria, and project specifications.
Core Responsibilities- Evaluate project requirements and design inputs to ensure completeness and feasibility.
- Develop control system designs based on customer specifications.
- Support preparation of engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to define functions, timelines, and deliverables.
- Produce drawings using customized CADD templates, standard formats, or existing CAD files.
- Review reports, drawings, and test results to support project planning and execution.
- Complete design tasks in accordance with Scope of Work documents and implement revisions after quality review.
- Verify drawings and documentation align with project scope and internal standards.
- Assist sales teams with scope development and proposal estimates.
- Conduct inspection and oversight of outsourced electrical procurement.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- 3–5 years of experience designing control systems for OEM equipment preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
- Experience designing control panels using relay-based or PLC-based systems.
- PLC programming experience is a plus.
- Understanding of plant process control and monitoring is advantageous.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEC, NEC, and NFPA.
- Strong technical writing abilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a professional team environment.
